Description Pages six and seven of the Revised Edition of 'An Account of the Wicksteed Park & Trust Booklet' page six describes the early development of the park including plantation clearing with the aid of steam engines and dynamite, the levelling of the playground and terrace areas, the sowing of grass and plating of shrubs and trees, and the erection of the Games Pavilion and Shelter. This page also notes the demand for tennis courts and other game facilities and how "The work went on, as circumstances permitted, all through the difficult years of the Great War." Page seven shows a black and white aerial view of the Park titled "Aerial View of golf course, tea pavilion and gardens"
