Pages twelve and thirteen of the Revised Edition of 'An Account of the Wicksteed Park & Trust Booklet', page twelve details the safety of playground equipment, the need for refreshments in the park which were supplied in the Games Pavilion up to 1922, and how demand led to further development of the Pavilion up to 2,000 capacity seating, tea consumption at the Pavilion: "As things are now, over 100,000 teas have been served in one year between Easter and September, and as many as 4,000 in one day.", and a description of the Bread and Butter slicing machine which is "capable of cutting and spreading at a rate of one slice per second." Page thirteen features an image of the playground showing swings, slides, see-saws and the witch's hat, image is titled "Corner of the Playground' |
