Pages ten and eleven of the Revised Edition of 'An Account of the Wicksteed Park & Trust Booklet' page ten notes that the water chute was built in 1926, but largely focuses on the origins and development of the playground. Temporary swings and see-saws were erected for children at Sunday school Treat, with the playground later covering 2 acres of land with about 70 pieces of play equipment including: swings, slides, trapezes, see-saws, horizontal ladders and bars, giant-strides, whirling platforms and jungle gymns (jungle gyms). This equipment was designed by Charles with the aim of producing strong, safe and "hooligan-proof" play equipment.
